The Initiator's Vision

Dr. Y. Kishore, Sports Management Professional | Educator | Researcher

With over two decades of experience spanning sports education, administration, policy research, and grassroots development, Dr. Y. Kishore has observed Indian sports from multiple perspectives—as an academic analyzing systems, as a practitioner implementing programs, and as a researcher studying outcomes.

Throughout this journey, a consistent observation emerged: India possesses tremendous sporting talent and passionate professionals, but often lacks structured platforms for systematic dialogue, idea exchange, and collective problem-solving. Many valuable insights remain confined to individual experiences, never reaching broader audiences or contributing to systemic improvements.

Sports Think Tank was conceived to address this gap—not as an authoritative voice prescribing solutions, but as a neutral platform enabling diverse stakeholders to articulate ideas, critique constructively, and collectively explore pathways toward better sports systems.

"This initiative is born from optimism about what we can achieve together," Dr. Kishore notes. "It's not about any one person or perspective—it's about creating space where practical wisdom, critical thinking, and innovative ideas can flourish and contribute to India's sporting future."

Dr. Kishore holds a doctorate in Sports Management, has published research on Indian sports policy and development, and continues to teach, consult, and engage with sports systems across various capacities. However, this platform intentionally separates from any individual identity—it belongs to everyone who contributes thoughtfully to it.
